With the natural reaction to cut costs and spending during recession, are we all doing enough to retain our best people, so our business have leaders for the future? Many companies at the current time are downsizing, reducing working hours and salaries, resulting in many employees being disillusioned and demotivated. A recent report on the CIPD website shows how RBS are using talent management to help bring about change within their own organisation – surely something many banks will need to do? So is talent management something we should all be looking at to retain and grow our organisations whilst also trying to tackle the shorter-term issues of today? Many companies at the current time will not be thinking about development of its people but is now the best time to actually invest? We would like to hear your views.
