A recent report on the BBC News website suggested that a recent survey showed that confidence amongst business professionals has surged, indicating the recession is coming to an end. The Institute of Chartered Accountants’ index of business confidence rose to 4.8 at the end of June, from -28.2 in March, which is the largest increase in two years. The institute also predicts the UK economy will grow by 0.5% in the third quarter of 2009. Investor confidence about the UK economy also appears to be growing with the UK Main FTSE 100 share index at a ten month high some two weeks ago. The survey also indicated that 41% of senior professionals were more confident about their business prospects over the next year. The report indicated that the IT sector was the most optimistic sector followed by banking, finance and insurance. Interesting enough the least confident professionals were health and education, as fears of cuts in the public sector continue to grow. So with more evidence emerging that Britain could be through the worst of it, what are your thoughts and experiences on how the recovery is looking for you? We know that pace of recovery is very uncertain but are you beginning to see improvements in your area? We would like to hear from you.
