A report published yesterday (15/6/11) by the CIPD and KPMG has highlighted something which we, as Recruitment Consultants, have observed for a large number of months – that despite a heavy volume of candidates in the market, really good calibre people can still be difficult to find. The report suggests that 73% of organisations have highlighted an increase in the number of unsuitable candidates for job vacancies. Why? Are good candidates fearful of leaving secure roles in what they see as a still uncertain market, or perhaps the downward pressure on salaries means there isn’t quite enough of a “pull factor” yet?
What are your thoughts…?
